Cindering Chinars is a collection of short stories that came out in 1995. It contains stories about ordinary Kashmiris caught up in extra-ordinary circumstances. It tells stories of men and women who are united by the pain and grief, of being Kashmiris. It has girls who dream and die, men who live bonded by their minds, monsters which eat the hearts of men and skies that cry for the innocent dead.
